Privacy is one of those hot topics that always seems to be in the news, so I'd like to lay out what information I, as a merchant and creator, collect from you, and what I do with it.
If you order something, I need to fulfill it. In this respect, I will access your address in as much as I need to print it out and attach it to the box or envelope. And that's where it ends. It will still exist, but I won't download it or share it. Once the order has been fulfilled, the order will be archived - where it will lead a sad and lonely life, collecting digital dust and dreaming of the sun - and that will be that. And that's not to say I'll never think of you - hell, I appreciate your support, so there may be nights where I'm sitting on my couch watching Netflix, and something will happen to remind me of that awesome person who once bought something from me. But let me assure you - that thought will not include your address. My memory's not that good...
And just to be clear, with regards to credit cards and credit card numbers, I never see that information. That's all handled by Stripe (via Shopify Payments), or PayPal, or whichever payment provider processes the order.
If you sign up for my newsletter, your address will be sent over to MailChimp, and you'll occasionally receive an email newsletter from me. These newsletters will generally be short, and will detail me trying to make the boring details of my life sound a little less boring. But, like your address, I won't be downloading or sharing your information. I let Shopify and MailChimp do their thing, and I try my best to stay out of it.
And there's always a handy 'Unsubscribe' button at the bottom of each newsletter, so unsubscribing is a cinch. Hey, I get it. People get inundated every day with newsletters and flyers, and it's hard to keep up. But I'll miss you.
And That's Pretty Much It.
If you have any questions about this, don't hesitate to send me an email at email@example.com.
